A summer that has seen an abundance of commitments, de-commitments, fake Twitter accounts, and everything else in between, can only mean one thing- FOOTBALL SEASON IS UPON US. Optimism is running high these days in Nashville, with fans expecting a substantial increase in both the talent and the results for the Commodores this upcoming season. Today we take a look at some recent visits, a de-commit who could find his way to Nashville,a possible commitment to kick off the weekend, and lastly a pretty big offer for the 2017 class.
On Tuesday, Grayson Stover, an OT from Hudson HS in Hudson, FL announced that he had de-committed from the University of Virginia. Stover had been pledged to UVA for less than a month, and had been thought of as the favorite to land him come NSD 2016. Stover was offered by the Commodores earlier in the month and has them among several other offers. He plans to visit in the fall. ($)
According to Rivals ($) 4-Star Jacob Phillips from local East Nashville Magnet is going to be in Nashville for another unofficial visit in the coming days. Some of his other offers include Nebraska, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Kentucky. Phillips is thought of as a lean towards the school with the orange, but that's not going to stop Coach Mason and the rest of the defensive staff from recruiting him heavily. Another recent visit came from a special teams player, Bailey Cate. Cate plays both QB and K for Orange Park HS in Florida, but is thought of as a Kicker for the future. he posted this picture on his visit on Twitter:

This Friday, top target Traveon Redd is going to be announcing his commitment. He is down to three schools: Vanderbilt, Maryland, and Wake Forest. While some people around Nashville feel he is destined to join the Demon Deacons, Vandy has both of the Crystal Ball predictions according to 247Sports. He is rated as a 3-star prospect, and one of the top 1,000 players nationally.
Earlier today, it was reported that 2017 Safety Kendarian Handy-Holly has received his second offer from the SEC, this one from Vanderbilt. This 4-star S from Jackson, AL is known to covet an offer from Auburn, and the rest of his reported offers include Southern Miss and Troy While it is still extremely early in the process, 2017 offers are going to start coming out in bunches since only 6 spots remain in the 2016 class. As fall camp approaches, recruiting is going to go one of two ways- if the 'Dores can succeed on the field, the rest of this recruiting class has a chance to be special. These updates will continue as the season goes on, and regardless of whether or not Redd commits tomorrow, we will keep you posted here at AoG.
