Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

This time, the transfer portal giveth.

Randon Fontenette announced his commitment to Vanderbilt via Twitter after spending his freshman season at TCU. The former four-star recruit as a safety out of Freeport, Texas, played in all 12 games for TCU as a true freshman and notched 16 tackles. Vanderbilt recruited him heavily out of high school and narrowly lost out to the Horned Frogs, but in the transfer portal world, finishing second on a guy’s initial recruitment often means that you’re first when the guy transfers. That helps to shore up Vanderbilt’s secondary entering 2024.

In other news, BJ Anderson is done with college football:

Women’s basketball picked up its ninth win of the season, beating Butler 51-39 (yes, you’re reading that score right) to enter the ten-day finals break on a two-game winning streak. All Vanderbilt sports teams are off until next Saturday.
