Oh, right. These guys.
The Vanderbilt Commodores showed few positives last week in a 41-23 loss to Stanford, and now, it’s time for Georgia. After opening the season with three straight games under the lights, today, Vanderbilt will return to its rightful place in the 11 AM Jefferson Pilot timeslot, and probably also to its rightful place of playing home games in front of crowds that are about three-quarters wearing the other team’s colors, and Twitter fans will engage in a tradition of getting defensive about selling their tickets to fans of the other team.
Anyway, Georgia is probably the best team in the country this season even if the polls still have them #2 behind Alabama. I’ve seen both Georgia and Alabama play football and I think the Bulldogs are better.
As for Vanderbilt, well, the main goal today should be to not embarrass yourself and make sure you still have a functional football team for when UConn comes to town next week. The Commodores are 35-point underdogs today and that should probably tell you everything you need to know about what to expect in this game.
Have fun, expect to win.
