Good morning.

Vanderbilt women’s golf opens its season today with the first round of the three-day Cougar Classic in Hanahan, South Carolina, an event they won in 2019. Live scoring is here.

Soccer ended its nonconference schedule yesterday with a 2-1 loss to MTSU. The Commodores held a 1-0 lead after freshman Rachel Deresky’s goal in the 49th minute, but conceded two goals down the stretch, including the game winner in the 87th minute. The Commodores open SEC play on Friday against Florida.

Justin Hershey at the Hustler has the weekly Commodore Brunch column, which is celebrating a win this time.

I’m in a hurry this morning so no scoreboard. Around the SEC is coming later today with a recap of all the SEC football action on Saturday. Vanderbilt won and Tennessee lost and I don’t think you can really ask for anything better than that these days.
