Anchor Drop, September 10, 2021: Soccer Beats Lipscomb

Also: apparently it’s walk-on feature story day?

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Vanderbilt soccer scored two quick goals (seriously, within the first three minutes) and then that held up for the rest of the match in a 2-0 win over Lipscomb on Thursday night. Raegan Kelley and Maddie Elwell scored the Commodores’ goals.

And apparently Thursday was Vanderbilt football walk-on feature day. The team site did one on new starting center Michael Warden and, not to be outdone, the Washington Post (byline: Steven Godfrey) did one on walk-on safety Tommy Smith, who was formerly a walk-on at Notre Dame before joining the Navy (and he’s still on active duty.)

At the Hustler, Bryce Smith looks at film from the ETSU loss. Later today, we make Patrick (TAFKA DoreonthePlains) do the same. No word on if we are giving him hazard pay for this.

ICYMI: basketball has its schedule completed.

Coming today: our predictions for Saturday’s game. You can’t miss that! (But we can definitely miss on our predictions.)
