Good morning.
Optional Musical Accompaniment
We are now 7 days — just a week! — away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against East Tennessee State. 7 for the Commodores is wide receiver Cam Johnson. The 6’0”, 200-pound redshirt junior from Brentwood was Vanderbilt’s leading receiver in 2020, with 56 catches for 545 yards and three touchdowns. For his career, Johnson has 90 catches for 906 yards and six touchdowns. He was also Vanderbilt’s punt returner in 2020.
And with game week being here, fall camp is now over. If you need a refresher on what we’re expecting this season, we have a lot of season preview content for you to read. We’ll also have game week content starting on Monday.
Candice Lee addressed Vanderbilt nation at the start of the academic year. That’s great, but VandyImport will address Vanderbilt nation later this week.
Aria Gerson at the Tennessean predicts Vanderbilt’s schedule game-by-game.
Also, college football writ large opens the season today, and we’ll have an open thread up later for that.
