Anchor Drop, August 21, 2021: 14 Days to Kickoff

Yep, two weeks away.

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

We are now 14 days — two weeks! — away from Vanderbilt football’s September 4 season opener against East Tennessee State. 14 for the Commodores is wide receiver Will Sheppard. The 6’3”, 200-pound sophomore from Mandeville, Louisiana, played in eight games last season and had a highlight-reel catch against Florida. He seems to be ticketed for a bigger role in the passing game this season.

Apparently the defensive line is showing out in preseason practice, and there’s a hint that Daevion Davis, Malik Langham, and Nate Clifton might be the starters on the defensive line — but we’re still running a 3-4? What? Anyway, Clark Lea had more media availability after practice yesterday.
