Good morning.
Optional Musical Accompaniment
We are now 16 days away from Vanderbilt football’s September 4 season opener against East Tennessee State. 16 for the Commodores is kicker Jack Cardillo. A graduate transfer from Indiana, the 6’1”, 181-pound redshirt senior from Evergreen, Colorado, did not play in four years for the Hoosiers, and I assume he’s just an emergency kicker on the roster.
Vanderbilt soccer opens its regular season, and thus the 2021-22 Vanderbilt athletic season, tonight at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex against Tennessee Tech. Game time is 7 PM CT, and the game will be streamed on the SEC Network+ (and now, ESPN+, with the new deal with ESPN.) Tennessee Tech went 4-5-1 last season in an all-OVC spring schedule, so this should be a game in which Vanderbilt is favored.

At 247 Sports, Robbie Weinstein writes about the players he likes early in fall camp.
