We are down to 22 days until Vanderbilt football’s September 4 season opener against East Tennessee State. 22 for the Commodores is John Howse IV. A true freshman from nearby Brentwood High School, the 6’2”, 190-pound defensive back was ranked as the #14 prospect in Tennessee in the Class of 2021 by Rivals.

Vanderbilt soccer closes out its preseason with an exhibition match tonight at Memphis. Game time is 6 PM CT, and there’s no stream — and I doubt DotP is going to make the trip to Memphis to live blog this for all of you. Sorry.

All three Vanderbilt golfers in the U.S. Amateur (Cole Sherwood, Harrison Ott, and Gordon Sargent) lost in the Round of 64.

Another day, another practice report, this time focusing on Vanderbilt’s receiving corps. Also focusing on the receiving corps: the Hustler. Clark Lea, meanwhile, updated the quarterback competition.
