Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

We are now 60 days away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against East Tennessee State. There is no 60 on the roster at the present time.

Vanderbilt soccer released its 2021 schedule on Monday. The Commodores, who have won some sort of SEC title three years running (regular-season champs in 2018, East Division champs in 2019, and tournament champs in 2020), will play two exhibition games against UT-Chattanooga on August 8 and at Memphis on August 13, before hosting Tennessee Tech to open the regular season on August 19. That’s probably going to be the first official Vanderbilt athletic event of the 2021-22 academic year.

And, football kept the commitments rolling in on Monday, adding another one after getting three on Sunday.

Caleb Coley, a 6’0”, 180-pound cornerback out of Houston County in Warner Robins, Georgia, is Vanderbilt’s fifteenth commitment thus far in the 2022 recruiting class, and his addition bumps Clark Lea’s first recruiting class up to 38th in the 247 Sports composite and 31st in Rivals. Those numbers might drop as other schools fill out their classes, but so far we’ve seen a strong effort from Clark Lea and staff on the recruiting trail.
