Sorry for sending you our former coach.
Vanderbilt men’s basketball has agreed to a two-year home-and-home series with the University of Pittsburgh as announced by both programs Monday.
Vanderbilt will visit the Steel City on Nov. 24, 2021, while the Panthers will make a trip to the Music City in 2022-23. Dates for both games are still to be determined.
(First of all, did anyone catch the fact that the article indicates that Vanderbilt will play at Pitt on November 24, 2021, and then went on to say “Dates for both games are still to be determined”? Almost like it would be helpful to have a communications staff.)
Anyway, yes, Kevin Stallings’ two former employers will meet in a home-and-home series starting this season. This won’t be the first time that Vanderbilt has played Pitt in the shooty hoops, with the Commodores sporting a 1-2 record against the Panthers. The most recent matchup was a W for Vanderbilt back in the 1988 NCAA Tournament (TRIGGER WARNING for any Pitt fans stumbling across this post):
We look forward to ESPN playing this clip during the game. Also, Vanderbilt should really consider giving Mr. C a mustache again.
