Open Thread: SEC Media Days, Day 1

Ah, yes, today begins the annual four-day reminder that football season is sort of around the corner.

SEC Media Days opens today, the four days a year when the SEC Network airing Paul Finebaum for four hours a day just feels appropriate, because it’s all talk anyway. Today, the Commissioner takes the podium as do coaches and student-athletes from Florida, LSU, and South Carolina. For the last, it’s the first Media Days appearance for new head coach Shane Beamer, who will probably not be as memorable as Robbie Caldwell because no one is.

Also speaking: Commissioner Greg Sankey, whose press conference will air on the SEC Network+ at 11:30 AM CT. Dan Mullen is up at 12:15, then Mr. Closed Captioning at 1:40 and Beamer at 3 PM.
