Snap Analysis and Predictions:

The Larry Birds put up a hell of a fight yesterday afternoon, and barely lost 7-6 to the higher seeded Atlanta. Unfortunately, they used both their Ace and #2 starter in the losing battle. Presby, on the other hand, is largely just happy to be here. The Dores made quick work of them 10-0, but that shouldn’t tell you much about how they might fare against lesser competition and non-top-of-the-first-round arms like Kumar Rocker. The Larry Birds should win this one... but will they?

Offense: Aside from the Hall of Name worthy #4 5th Year Sr. LF Zacchaeus Rasberry (.314/.368/.577) and #5 Jr. OF Kyle “Dan” Decker (.316/.403/.385), we don’t love them hose on offense. They only managed two hits last night, but they were facing Kumar Rocker, so we should largely ignore that for today’s purposes.

As for The Larry Birds, their bats fared really well against Atlanta yesterday, putting up 11 hits and 6 runs. Leadoff hitter and SS Jordan Schaffer (.362/.427/.512) is the big bat in the lineup. OF Aaron Beck and C Max “Power” Wright are also solid at the plate.

Advantage: Larry Birds.

Pitching: The Larry Birds used their normal #2 starter Tyler Grauer in relief last night (in addition to burning their only good pitcher in their Ace, Double G), so it won’t be him. The Blue Hose have gone back and forth on their day two pitcher all year. Them Hose used 5 pitchers last night, whereas The Larry Birds only used 3, giving them the better rested bullpen heading into this elimination game. Both pitching staffs are bad right now, so I’ll go with the one with more bullets in the chamber.

Advantage: Larry Birds (though both staffs are pretty bad right now).

Anchor of Gold Twitter Poll Prediction:

Elimination Game Prediction: I’ve got to agree with the majority of voters on the bird app. The Larry Birds will survive this afternoon’s elimination game.

See you in the comments.
