Good morning.
Optional Musical Accompaniment
We’re now 98 days away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against ETSU. There’s no 98 on the roster; these first few days are awkward because the incoming freshmen don’t have roster numbers assigned yet, so there may be some guys who get skipped. There wasn’t a 98 on last year’s team, either; the last player to wear it was former kicker Ryley Guay.
Vanderbilt baseball lost to Ole Miss, 4-1, on Friday afternoon, ending its stay in Hooverville and bringing on the NCAA Tournament, where the Commodores should still be a national seed and be a favorite to get back to Omaha.
Men’s golf had a rough go of it in the first round of the NCAA Championship, shooting a 12-over par and finding themselves in 23rd place. They’ll get underway in the second round at 9:27 AM CT.
Another abbreviated Anchor Drop today as I’m on the road. If you’re still paying attention to Hoover, games today are Florida-Tennessee and Ole Miss-Arkansas.
