Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Vanderbilt’s Troy LaNeve walked it off with a two-run home run in the ninth inning to give the Commodores a 4-2 win over Kentucky in the first of a three-game series on Thursday night. Kumar Rocker went seven innings, struck out 11, and gave up just three hits, but didn’t get the win.

The other bad news is that with Arkansas and Tennessee both winning last night, Vanderbilt didn’t make up any ground in the standings. The Commodores and Wildcats will go at it again tonight at 6:30 PM CT, once again on the SEC Network+. More on last night’s game from the Hustler.

Men’s basketball will play in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu from December 22-25, for anybody who’s interested in spending Christmas is Hawaii. Other teams competing: BYU, Liberty, Northern Iowa, South Florida, Stanford, Wyoming, and Hawaii.

Celina Sattelkau and Louise Yu are competing as individuals in the NCAA women’s golf championship, which opens today at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
