Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Vanderbilt baseball heads into the final week of the regular season, starting tonight with a home game against Florida International at 6:30 PM CT on the SEC Network+. That’s followed by a three-game series against Kentucky starting on Thursday, before we all go down to the tent city named for former President Herbert Hoover. Also, Jack Leiter’s the SEC Newcomer of the Week.

Men’s golf opened NCAA regional play in Kingston Springs yesterday by going 5-under par, with Reid Davenport holding the individual lead after shooting at 6-under 65 on the first of three days. Vanderbilt is in a tie for third and two shots behind co-leaders Kent State and NC State, who they’ll tee off with at 7:30 AM CT.

Women’s basketball announced the schedule for next season’s Paradise Jam, held November 25-27 in the Virgin Islands.

Robbie Weinstein writes about how Vanderbilt’s quarterbacks are using the spring to adjust to the new scheme. And, the Titans signed Kalija Lipscomb on Monday.

Adam Sparks dug through Vanderbilt’s tax records to discover the little-known fact that Vanderbilt paid a lot of money to lose a lot of basketball games in 2019.

In other news, the Tennessean’s new Vandy beat writer should fit right in.
