WELP.
— Scotty Pippen Jr (@spippenjr) April 10, 2021
Since Vanderbilt apparently can’t have a good player in the program for more than two years these days, Scotty Pippen Jr. is declaring for the NBA Draft, although he is leaving open the option of returning to college. The sophomore saw his scoring average jump from 12 ppg to 20.8, and he was named first team All-SEC. He also averaged 4.9 assists per game and shot 42.9 percent from the floor, 35.8 percent beyond the arc.
Pippen isn’t showing up on any mock draft boards that I’ve seen, but then Saben Lee wasn’t either and he ended up getting drafted in the second round and is now playing for the Detroit Pistons. So maybe the people who do mock drafts don’t know that much?
And for those of you keeping score at home, that’s now six players leaving after last season, or close to half the roster. Pippen at least might return
