Good morning.
Optional Musical Accompaniment
Vanderbilt baseball hosts Memphis at 4:30 PM CT today, in the final game of a season-opening 11-game homestand (originally a 12-game homestand, but the Wright State series was shortened to two games due to snow and ice.) Memphis is 4-5 this season and coming off losing four straight to Baylor by a combined score of 42-15; they also lost 16-4 to Ole Miss in a midweek game last week, in case you’re wondering how this one will probably go. Anyway, it’s on the SEC Network+ and Andrew should have your game thread later.
Football made some additions to the off-field staff, namely a bunch of analysts, graduate assistants, and quality control — they’re not names you’re gonna recognize, unless you’re really into Rice football what with the team’s former leading rusher Aston Walter joining the program as a graduate assistant.
Lacrosse seniors Gabby Fornia and Melissa Hawkins were named, respectively, the AAC’s Attack Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.
Soccer has a new look, and it’s kind of cool.
