Anchor Drop, March 3, 2021: Odeyingbo Invited to NFL Combine

So, let’s avoid the basketball team for a minute and talk about the NFL Combine. Former Vanderbilt defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo has been invited to the combine, which is a sign that NFL teams view him as a guy who will probably get drafted. For the record, in 2020, 337 players were invited to the combine compared to 255 draft picks, so the odds are pretty good — but at least he’ll get picked up as an undrafted free agent and have a good chance of making a roster.

And now to the basketball team, which lost 83-68 at LSU last night and that honestly probably overstates how competitive the game was: LSU led by 24 points with nine minutes left before Vanderbilt made a late charge. Maxwell Evans had 20 points in what we assume is one of his final games at Vanderbilt.

Women’s golf ended the second day of the Gamecock Intercollegiate in fifth place. They’ll complete the tournament today, pending weather.
