So, our slow-moving look at Vanderbilt’s 2021 signing class (insert joke about basketball player report cards WHICH I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL START AND COMPLETE THIS TIME) finally gets through the seven early enrollees, and just in time for the start of spring practice next Wednesday. Gage Pitchford, of East Coweta High School in Georgia, is one of five offensive line signees and one of three already enrolled at Vanderbilt for spring practice.

Listed at 6’6” and 295 pounds, Pitchford appears to move reasonably well for that size and that’s about as deep of a comment as you’re going to get about an offensive line prospect from me, since I can’t really tell you the difference between a three-star and a five-star offensive tackle based on high school film. The point here is that Vanderbilt has brought in nine offensive linemen between the 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes and there’s some amount of strength in numbers to rebuild a unit that struggled in 2020, but most of them probably aren’t about to contribute in 2021.

Anyway, now back to the SEC basketball tournament.
