You might have heard of Earl Bennett before. In case you haven’t, Earl played at Vanderbilt from 2005-07 and had 236 career receptions for 2852 yards and 20 touchdowns. He left Vanderbilt as the school’s all-time leader in receptions (since passed by Jordan Matthews) in spite of leaving after his junior season, at which point he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round. Anyway, he’s the new director of player development.
Vanderbilt basketball hosts Auburn tonight at Memorial Gym. Tipoff is at 7:30 PM CT and the game will be televised on the SEC Network. The Commodores picked up their first SEC win against South Carolina a week and a half ago and now draw a reeling Auburn team that’s lost three in a row, including home losses to Georgia and Ole Miss last week. The Tigers of course are under a self-imposed postseason ban this season for cheatin’.
Women’s golf ended the first day at the FAU Paradise Invitational one shot off the lead. They’ll wrap things up today.
