Much like football season, it’s time for our once a week basketball game. This is the fifth Saturday in a row that Vanderbilt has played a game, but the Commodores have only played one midweek game in that stretch, with two games being called off due to Vanderbilt’s own COVID-19 issues, and Wednesday’s game against the Texas A&M Aggies being postponed due to the Aggies’ problems.

(As an aside: when exactly does the SEC plan to reschedule all these postponed games? Not just for Vanderbilt; seemingly no one has had any games rescheduled, and there are only four weeks left in the regular season.)

Anyway, tonight Vanderbilt travels to Athens, Georgia, to play the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia appears to be at least modestly improved from last season’s squad, which went 16-16 overall and 5-13 in the SEC. The Bulldogs have won four of six games since starting SEC play 0-4. Sophomore guard Sahvir Wheeler leads the SEC averaging 7.4 assists per game, and he’s also the Bulldogs’ leading scorer at 13.5 ppg. The matchup between him and Scotty Pippen Jr., at least, should be interesting to watch.

Have fun, expect to win, Anchor Down.
