NCAA Baseball: College World Series-Michigan v Vanderbilt Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Vanderbilt baseball released its full 2021 schedule on Wednesday, and there’s nothing particularly unusual about the nonconference slate, with a lot of familiar opponents on the docket. What’s more, the schedule is 54 games (counting SEC games), which sounds like a normal college baseball schedule. It opens on February 19 with a three-game series against Wright State at the Hawk, the first of a 12-game homestand to open the season.

Vanderbilt’s football program added four signees to the 2021 class on Wednesday. Three of the four — LB Michael Mincey, RB Dylan Betts-Pauley, and DB C.J. Taylor — committed earlier but did not sign in December, while the Commodores also picked up RB Patrick Smith. Adam Sparks also writes about Clark Lea, who’s treating his roster like an 80-man recruiting class and says that his coaching staff should be complete by the end of the week. More from the Hustler on Lea, too.

The Hustler also profiles basketball’s Trey Thomas.
