Sunday Game Thread: Games 3 and 4 vs. The Sex Panthers

The series is tied at 1-1. Today’s double header determines the series. Luckily, we got Rocker and Leiter on the mound.

The Diamond Dores evened the series up with a 5-4 win, courtesy of the first career Dingers from Dom Keegan and Carter Young, respectively.

...and Luke Murphy slammed the door with a 2 inning save.

Murphy has looked the part this year, and may get more save opportunities as the year goes on. At the very least, he’s turning into a lockdown setup man. This is a very good development.

Speaking of good developments, we will have both Kumar Rocker (1-0; 0.00 ERA) and Jack Leiter (1-0; 0.00 ERA) on the mound today, with Kumar packing his craver case of nasty sliders for Brunch Baseball (11am CT on SECN+), and Jack going Leits Out at 3:30pm CT (also on SECN+). It appears Corbs is trying to slowly ease them back into their Friday and Saturday roles, since having to pitch last Monday due to snow and ice delays. With that in mind, expect them to pitch Saturday and Sunday next week against the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames, and then be back in their normal roles at Oklahoma State.

The Sex Panthers will likely counter with #27 Fr. LHP Cameron Jones (0-0; 4.76 ERA in 2 appearances, 1 start)—though he did pitch an inning of relief on Friday—and #20 Fr. RHP Chad “The Chad” Treadway (0-0; 0.00 ERA in 2 appearances, 1 start)—though he did pitch 23 of an inning of relief on Friday. No matter who they start on the mound, expect a Johnny Wholestaff game on both ends of the double header.

Let’s hope Max Herz reminds the tech nerds to plug in the internet again today, as I don’t want to see the SECN+ “Your Event is About to Begin; Please Stand By” blue screen of death well into the 2nd inning again.

*Will update when they release the lineups.
