But also, bowling and tennis.

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Well, Vanderbilt basketball travels to Mississippi State today at noon CT on the SEC Network, and we’d be lying to ourselves if we didn’t admit that we are at a point with this basketball team where we say Have Fun, Expect to Win and mean it. Plus Andrew covered some bad comments made by Jerry Stackhouse yesterday and, well, oof.

But you, dear Anchor of Gold reader, are here to find out about bowling, golf, lacrosse, and tennis, all of which are being played today. (Hail Pinman. OO.) Vanderbilt bowling went 3-1 yesterday on the first day of the Bulldog Classic in Dallas (hosted by Louisiana Tech, and Dallas isn’t in Louisiana.) Play resumes today at 9:25 AM, and can be streamed on the bowling team’s YouTube channel.

Men’s golf shot 9-under par through part of the second round at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, before play was suspended due to darkness. They picked things up again today at 7 AM CT and will try to get in the rest of the second round as well as the third round.

Lacrosse opens its 2021 season today at Notre Dame at 11 AM CT. It looks like the game is streaming on ACC Network+, but no, I don’t know how you subscribe to that.

Men’s tennis hosts Illinois State today, also at 11 AM CT. Stream here. Women’s tennis beat Louisville 5-2 on Friday, moving to 7-0 on the season before finishing nonconference play against Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Oh, and the football team picked up Alabama graduate transfer kicker Joseph Bulovas, who converted 22 of 29 field goal attempts with a long of 49 yards while playing for the Tide.
