VIDEO: Clark Lea Postgame Press Conference

Clark Lea said that he headbutted a player who had his helmet on because he’s still a fullback.

One commonality I see between Clark Lea and Jerry Stackhouse is that both of them aren’t afraid to talk about the X’s and O’s to the media. Watching Lea’s postgame press conference following Saturday night’s 30-28 win over UConn and he sounds like he really knows what he’s talking about, at least. That’s, uh, different from a lot of coaches, who often try to dance around any real questions about strategy or play gamesmanship with depth charts that are released to the media (sound familiar?)

That (mostly) hasn’t translated to results yet on the field, though Vanderbilt is 2-3 with the win today. But aside from the X’s and O’s, Clark Lea also got asked — twice — about headbutting Gabe Jeudy-Lally following an interception. Lea might have to go into the concussion protocol after that one.

Anyway, good to watch one of these after a win (however ugly it all was). Anchor Down.
