NCAA Basketball: Florida at Vanderbilt Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Optional Musical Accompaniment

Vanderbilt plays its second game against Florida this season. This one is in Gainesville and will tip off at 5:30 PM CT (early tip!) on the SEC Network. Florida won the first meeting at Memorial Gym back on December 30 by a 91-72 score.

Jerry Stackhouse reflected on his postgame comments after Saturday’s game in a sitdown interview with Kevin Ingram, by the way.

“There’s always a positive to take out of things,” he said. “At the end of the battle, there’s always emotional times there. But when you’re able to really go back and digest and look at everything, you can see there were some improvements.”

Vanderbilt also made the hire of running backs coach Norval McKenzie official, along with a couple of assistant strength coaches and... I just want everyone to admire the beards on our strength coaches.

Also, the SEC will make the 2021 conference football schedule official at 1 PM CT today on a special on the SEC Network:

Vanderbilt soccer released its spring schedule yesterday, an unusual aspect of the season with the NCAA Tournament being moved to the spring. The Commodores will play two exhibitions and four additional regular season games. They’ll play Kennesaw State on March 11, Lipscomb on March 21, Memphis on March 28, and at Duke on April 11. The Commodores are already assured of an NCAA Tournament bid after their SEC Tournament win in the fall.

Baseball announced another nonconference series against Oklahoma State from March 12-14 in Stillwater.
