Good morning.

So the big story of the day is the national championship game tonight at 7 PM CT on ESPN. The Alabama Crimson Tide only feel like they’ve made the title game for the last decade; in fact, it’s only been since last year that they weren’t playing. But this time, rather than old nemesis Clemson, it’s the Ohio State Buckeyes, who have been waiting for a title shot since... 2014. Anyway, college football has issues.

And speaking of issues, the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team, which finally got around to playing its SEC opener on Sunday and got clocked 80-56 by Alabama. So, perhaps a coaching change is long overdue?

And here is Justin Hershey’s Memorial Minutes column, which discusses Vanderbilt’s three losses to open SEC play. Two of them were heartbreakers and one of the heartbreakers were in Rupp Arena. Still, when does the winning start?
