What goes great with weird Thursday night football? Weird college football picks! Whether you’re watching UAB at South Alabama or Battle of Florida Futility between the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars, you deserve some more BAD (psuedo) gambling. Look, Stan is new, so I will avoid picking on him for having identical 1-6 records in the first two weeks. And I’ll never praise VU ‘04. I just refuse even if he did get over .500 for the week to tie me at 6-8 overall thanks to a terrible 2-5 set from me.
However, I will point out that Import is growing! He went from 2-5 to 3-4. He is on the Derek Mason circa 2016 growth plan. Tom stayed rock steady (rock bottom?) consistent at 2-5 for the 2nd straight week. CDA turned it around BIG time turning in a 5-2 ticket after starting 1-6.
Last week, ULL and WKU burned us all for picking them. Louisville gave me, and only me, a hearty “F—- you!” as they failed to cover the field goal spread against Miami. Stan did learn that our insane habit of running jokes into the ground can pay off since he was the only one who did not ride the Fighting Camels to victory.
This week, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Tulane, Army, and Campbell all have at least 5 of the 6 pickers on their side. The level of agreement here means the results are going to be another bloodbath. Maybe the game for the commentariat should be picking who will have the best pick set. Or who might go winless.
The Rules
- Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick. This year, it is going to be all SEC games, one dealer’s choice, and the Campbell Fighting Camels game! Why? Because I said so.
- The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling with more states making it legal.
- The lines will be taken from Oddshark’s consensus spread some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published.
