Mainly, this exists as a primer for when I will be putting these things up in the next week or so.

MLB Game Threads Note:

For the remainder of the regular season, I will put up game threads on days when former Vanderbilt players are scheduled to be on the mound, and may do so on other days (time permitting).

After checking the next week’s pitching match-ups, only two Vanderbilt pitchers are scheduled to take the mound in the next week: Kyle Wright on Sunday afternoon vs. The Mets and Mike Minor on Tuesday night vs. The Dodgers. I will put up game threads on those days. I may do so on other days, but I make no guarantees.

2020 was supposed to be the year of the Vanderbilt pitcher. What happened?

  1. David Price chose to opt out.
  2. Walker Buehler is battling through finger blisters (which might not sound like much, but can be debilitating for a pitcher).
  3. Sonny Gray began the season with a string of Cy Young caliber starts, but just suffered a back injury and may have to be shut down for the season.
  4. Last, but not least, Carson Fulmer has pitched in three different bullpens, and though he’s now with the Orioles, I’m not going to watch Orioles games. Even I have my limits, and I watch every second of both Phillies baseball and Vanderbilt football.

I know I said I’m not about to watch Orioles games, but there has already been some Dore on Dore crime in this one, and I need to see how it ends.
