Today’s Featured Game
Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies—6:05pm CT ESPN+
The Braves (9-4) have been a hot team early, save for Mike Soroka’s exploding achilles tendon. Dansby went 0-3 with a BB and a run (on a Freddy Freeman HR). Luckily for the Bravos, they didn’t need his bat, as they beat the Jays 4-3. The Phillies (3-4) are out of quarantine, and fresh off a 2-2 series split with the Yankees. Their offense, defense, and staring pitching are sound, but their bullpen is a dumpster fire of Karl Dorellian proportions.
Kyle Wright is on the mound for Atlanta. Vince Velasquez is on the mound for the Phillies. Neither have a penchant for getting out of the 3rd inning... so this one will be a bullpen special. Advantage Braves.
Other Games Featuring Former Dores
De2roit vs. Pittsburgh—6:05pm CT MLB.TV
The Pirates got a much needed win yesterday, beating the Twins 6-5. Reynolds was a big reason why, as he went 2-4 with 2 runs scored (one of which was the winning run).
Cin City vs. Milwaukee—7:10pm CT MLB.TV
The Reds were straight up smoked last night, losing 13-0. No Dores saw action. Feel free to draw hasty generalizations here.
Houston vs. Oakland—8:10pm CT MLB.TV
The A’s beat Mike Minor and the Rangers last night 6-4. Kemp saw no action. Minor took his 3rd loss of the year, going 5 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 2 BB, and 6 K. The Rangers are not very good (3-8 on the year), so Mike Minor may well be on the move at the trade deadline.
San Fransisky Garlic Fries vs. LA Dodgers—8:40pm CT MLB.TV
The Garlic Fries are back in the loss column (losing 6-4 to the Rockies). Yaz got the night off, but did come in for a PH, and got a hit and an RBI.
