Today’s Featured Game
Cin City vs. De2roit—4:40pm CT MLB.TV
Sonny Gray has to feel like the weight of the world is no longer on his shoulders, as Cin City swept yesterday’s double-header. Rather than have to stop a losing streak, Gray gets to try to build on a winning streak, and bring the Reds to .500.
On the losing side, Carson Fulmer got in briefly, going 1⁄3 IP with a H and a K.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres—8:10pm CT MLB.TV
Walker Buehler is back in action, as the 7-3 Dodgers face the 6-4 Padres.
Other Games Featuring Former Dores
NY Mets vs. Atlanta Braves—6:10pm CT FS1
Dansby and the Braves won 4-0 to finally overtake the Marlins for first place in the East, but the real story here was the mysterious case of Yoenis Cespedes. Cespedes was a no-show, no-call for this game, and for a while there, we all feared the worst. Turns out he decided to opt out of the season and have his agent call the Mets to tell them mid-game.
As for the players who actually played in this one, The Mansby kept the hit streak alive, going 1-4. Kyle Wright kept things scoreless through 3 and 1⁄3 IP, but it wasn’t pretty. He let up 5 hits and 4 walks. How that led to a few innings of scoreless ball can only be explained by the Mets. Still, as he didn’t get deep enough into the game, it’s another ND for Wright, and his hold onto the #5 spot in the rotation is getting more and more precarious.
Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota—7:10pm CT MLB.TV
Reynolds rode the bench this one, only coming in for a pinch hit strikeout. Pirates lost 2-1 to move to 2-7 on the year. Fire sale’s a-comin’.
San Fransisky Garlic Fries vs. Colorado Rockies—7:40pm CT MLB.TV
The Garlic Fries got knocked back down to .500, and Yaz had his worst night of the season, going 0-5 with 3 Ks out of the 3 hole.
Oakland vs. Seattle—8:10pm CT ESPN+
Tony Kemp got his first hit of the season! He went 1-2 with a run and 2 BBs, as the A’s won 3-2.
