7/28 Dores in the Pros MLB (well, what’s left of it) Gamethread

Kyle Wright and Walker Buehler make their 2020 debuts.

Forgive me if I’m low energy today. The Marlins now have a full 50% of their 30 man roster testing positive. No Phillies positives today, but they’re not out of the woods yet, as there is an incubation period lag.

The Marlins vs. Orioles and Phillies vs. Yankees games have been postponed for the 2nd day in a row.

Ugh. Just shut it down, already.

But for today, at least, two former Dores are on the mound.

Today’s Featured Games

Atlanta Braves vs. Tampa Bay Devil Rays—5:40pm CT MLB.TV

It’s Kyle Wright vs. Yonny Chirinos (no, I have never heard of him, either), as the 2-2 Braves face off against the 3-1 Rays.

LA Dodgers vs. Houston Trashcan Bangers—8:10pm CT FS1

Walker Buehler is LA’s #5 starter in name only, which is bad news for Houston’s actual #5 starter Framber Valdez (again, no, I have never heard of him, either).

Other Games Featuring Former Dores

Chicago Cubs vs. Cin City Reds—5:40pm CT MLB.TV

Curt Casali may play, or they may give him the night off. Either way, he’s your only reason to tune in to this one.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates—6:05pm CT MLB.TV

Bryan Reynolds is 0-13 through 4 games, and everything else about baseball and America is so depressing right now, this barely registers a shrug from me.

Colorado Rockies vs. Oakland A’s—8:40pm CT ESPN+

The Rockies have a righty on the mound, so Tony Kemp may well get the start at 2B tonight. Incidentally, Kemp is also 0-fer 2020 thus far, but has only had 5 ABs.

San Diego vs. San Fransisco—8:45pm CT MLB.TV

Yaz is hitting .286 in the early going, which is pretty good, all things considered.
