Good morning.
Today, we are 69 number of days away from kickoff. #69 for Vanderbilt is 6’6”, 270-pound offensive lineman Brayden Bapst. The redshirt freshman from Washington, D.C., didn’t play last year, and probably spent most of the year in the weight room as 270 is on the light side for a college offensive lineman. Either way, he figures into the future plans. (That is, of course, Adam Butler in the header photo.)
(Also: nice.)
Optional Musical Accompaniment
Light on news today. After shooting a 62 on Friday to pull within one shot of the lead at the Travelers Championship, Will Gordon shot a 1-over 71 on Saturday, falling to seven shots behind leader Brendon Todd after 54 holes. He’ll tee off his final round today at 11:45 AM CT; Brandt Snedeker tees off at 10:25 AM.
Actual Sports on TV
The final round of the Travelers is on the Golf Channel starting at noon CT, before switching over to CBS at 2:00 PM CT.
ESPN has an FA Cup match between Sheffield United and Arsenal starting, well, now. At 10:25 AM CT, NBC Sports is showing Watford v. Southampton in the Premier League, and at 12:25 PM CT, Sassuolo v. Hellas Verona in Serie A. BeIN Sports has Granada v. Eibar at 12:20 PM CT, followed by Espanyol v. Real Madrid at 2:50 PM CT.
There’s also a ton of soccer on ESPN+ today, enough that I’m just going to link the schedule instead of typing out every match. Anyway, I trust you guys to turn this into a game thread for something stupid. Like, oh, I don’t know, the replay of the 1990 LSU-Loyola Marymount game airing at 1:00 PM on the SEC Network. (That’s followed later, at 5, by the 2005 football game between Vanderbilt and Tennessee. You know the one.)
