Good morning.
We are now 87 days away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against Mercer. #87 for the Commodores is redshirt sophomore wide receiver Amir Abdur-Rahman. Abdur-Rahman had basically the catch of the year in 2018 on a diving touchdown reception against Tennessee, but an early-season injury cost him basically all of 2019. He’s now back in the wide receiver mix after a redshirt year.
Optional Musical Accompaniment
It’s MLB Draft day, and Anchor of Gold has you covered. Andrew has a primer for the first night of the draft coming this afternoon, and we’ll have a live thread up for the draft as well. Here’s the official word on who might go from Vanderbilt tonight and tomorrow.
Women’s basketball officially announced the addition of South Florida grad transfer Enna Pehadzic to the program.
Vanderbilt won the 2020 Community Service Award, given out by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

Oh. Well, then.
Actual Sports on TV
Bayern Munich v. Eintracht Frankfurt on ESPN at 1:30 PM CT! That’s German soccer! And, the MLB Draft at 6:00 PM CT on ESPN!
And... the SEC Network is showing the Paul Finebaum Show in its entirety twice. With three full hours of SEC Now in between. But they are also replaying the 2019 SEC Tournament Championship Game at 10:30 AM CT, so there’s that.
Now, this website does indicate that there are five Costa Rican Premier League soccer matches (or, as parlagi called it, “the NAIA of professional soccer”) being played today, but unaccountably zero of them are televised in the United States from best I can tell. But, ESPN+ is showing the Danish Cup semifinal between Aalborg and Aarhus at 1:40 PM CT.
