Anchor Drop, May 5, 2020: An oasis in the desert

Sports returns, in some form, with Korean baseball opening its season.

Good morning.

Sports are back! Sort of! The KBO — that is, the Korea Baseball Organization — opens its season today, or really, it opened its season overnight while you were probably asleep thanks to the time difference. And ESPN, starved for content for obvious reasons, signed a contract to pick up KBO coverage in the United States, and you’d better believe we’re going to have game threads for this. That starts with today’s 2 PM CT game between the NC Dinos and the Samsung Lions.

(For the record, I’m going to post the KBO scores in the Anchor Drop going forward, but from the previous day and not the overnight scores because of the game threads and spoilers.)

In the latest development stemming from the FBI college basketball investigation, Louisville got hit with a Notice of Allegations yesterday.

In Vanderbilt news, there seems to be some smoke around Arizona State graduate transfer Romello White, who previously played for Jerry Stackhouse’s AAU team. That was the subject of Chris Lee and Mitch Light’s podcast yesterday.
