Good morning.
Another year, another graduate transfer from the Ivy League. This time, it’s Oren Milstein, a kicker who made 20 of 26 field goal attempts for Columbia in 2016 and 2017, but hasn’t played in two years after missing 2018 with an injury (it’s not clear why he didn’t play in 2019.)
This one’s a little curious; while Ryley Guay has graduated and moved on, redshirt sophomore Javan Rice and redshirt freshman Jared Wheatley are both on scholarship and would figure to be candidates to handle place-kicking duties (we’re just assuming Harrison Smith has punting duties on lockdown for 2020.)
That assumes, of course, that there is a season, though Greg Arias at SI raised the possibility: what if the SEC is alone in playing? Apparently that’s something under discussion.
And some baseball news: sophomore 1B/DH Justyn-Henry Malloy is in the transfer portal. Andrew probably knows better than I do what this means.
