Good morning.
Well, this is something.
BREAKING: UConn Pres. Tom Katsouleas says that fall sports will likely be cancelled.
— UCTV Sports (@UCTVSports) April 21, 2020
"Current thinking is that likely fall sports will be cancelled - with the exception of those that can be played at a safe distance”.
The Pres. spoke to a UConn Journalism class moments ago.
Yeah, with universities openly talking about not opening campuses back up in the fall, tis seems like a likely outcome. They’re just finally saying the quiet part out loud.
Now... I do suspect that universities that expect students to just shut up and take online classes when they signed up for in-person classes are in for a rude awakening. In fact, the talk on Twitter suggests that a lot of college students are just going to take a gap year instead of going online for a semester. Which, frankly, I would probably do, too, were I a college student.
Anyway, here’s the Tennessee game from 2005. Enjoy!
