Vanderbilt Baseball Mail Bag #4: Call For Submissions

Send VANDERBILT BASEBALL questions to andrewvu04@gmail.com. Again, this is a BASEBALL mail bag. No basketball questions. Send your basketball questions to Tom, or throw them directly into the void where they belong.

Letters... we get letters... we get sacks and sacks of letters...

After taking the weekend series in dramatic fashion—an 11th inning walk-off 3 run bomb by Isaiah “Run Support” Thomas—over the Fightin’ Rainbow Warriors, Vanderbilt has improved to 10-3 overall, and largely finds itself in the top 5 in the various rankings.

Let us pause to watch I.T.’s heroic swing once more:

Of course, it was not all skittles and beer this week, as Mason Hickman had to leave with an oblique strain (thank Jebus), Kumar Rocker missed his start due to soreness (thank Jebus for caution), and it took an improbable 11th inning walk-off by I.T. to clinch the series against Hawaii at home. Oh, and a tornado hit.

We’ve got a game tonight against Central Arkansas, and then, like Fivel, we head west to L.A. for a three game tourney against UCLA, USC, and TCU. On top of that, we’re just a little over a week from the start of SEC play.

As such, I have to assume you’ve got some questions for me.

One of them may well have been answered with the announcement of this week’s mid-week starter...

Send your questions to andrewvu04@gmail.com some time today or tomorrow, and I’ll answer them in a post on this week. You may also post your questions here in the comments. Just post them in the body of the comment, with the subject line: “Question for the mail bag.”

*Note: Questions about other SEC baseball teams are welcome, too. I just won’t know as much about them, and will likely respond with juvenile, biased trash talk.

I will do this weekly as long as the questions keep coming in. If they dry up, no post. I’m not mad, just disappointed.
