Well, after the suboptimal opening to the season, Vanderbilt immediately gets an opportunity to bounce back with two midweek games against South Alabama.
Jack Leiter is set to make his Vanderbilt debut today. Leiter was widely thought to be the pick for the Sunday starter spot, but that spot went to Jake Eder in the opening series. That said, this isn’t terribly different from how Tim Corbin has handled talented freshmen in the past, working them in as a midweek starter before moving them into the weekend rotation later in the season.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM CT on the SEC Network+, though there is a chance of rain in the forecast.
