Yep. Vanderbilt begins its national title defense today.

It’s true. Vanderbilt baseball returns to action tonight at 6:00 PM CT, for their season opener against Michigan (whom they beat in June in the College World Series Final to win a national title. Also, did you know that Vanderbilt won a national title last year?) Anyway, tonight’s game will be televised on the MLB Network and also, apparently, on

Women’s basketball lost 74-53 at Texas A&M last night. Texas A&M is a Top 25 team, but being 3-8 in conference play isn’t good.

Bowling will compete in the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Invitational, starting today at 10:10 AM CT. Live streaming on YouTube.

The Hustler has a preview of Vanderbilt’s lineup and starting rotation.

Chris Lee reports that Vanderbilt could have stopped Malcolm Turner’s spending but chose not to, which is... a bad look. Also, he has a new podcast with Seabass where they optimistically pick the Vanderbilt football team to win 3-4 games next year. Meanwhile, Ke’Shawn Vaughn hasn’t blocked them as far as I know.
