Yesterday, Jeff Goodman reported that Vanderbilt was withdrawing from this week’s Legends Classic, and per a release from the University today, it’s a bit more than that.
Vanderbilt has paused all basketball activities indefinitely due to a positive COVID-19 test within the basketball program. Obviously there’s no timetable for a return, but just speculating a bit here, if the timeline for quarantine of any exposure to a positive case is roughly 14 days, that means that in addition to the Legends Classic, Vanderbilt’s next three games — at SMU on December 8, North Carolina Central on December 11, and Mississippi Valley State on December 13 — would be in jeopardy as well.
Anyway, we pretty much knew this was going to happen at some point and this means that, well, we’re back to focusing on football for the time being. Because that was what we wanted to do all along, wasn’t it?
