The Vanderbilt Commodores will host the Valparaiso Crusaders on Friday, November 27, to open the 2020-21 season. We learned today that the game will tip off at 6:00 PM CT, and even better, the game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Jerry Stackhouse enters his second season as Vanderbilt’s head coach coming off an 11-21 season that saw the Commodores lose their best player — Aaron Nesmith, drafted 14th overall by the Boston Celtics last week — to injury in the first game of SEC play, but they still managed to win three SEC games led by Saben Lee, who was a second-round pick in the NBA Draft. But the Commodores will get Clevon Brown back from injury and also have three transfers (DJ Harvey, Quentin Millora-Brown, and Issac McBride) eligible, in addition to returning starters Scotty Pippen Jr., Max Evans, and Dylan Disu and top reserve Jordan Wright. Plus, the Commodores welcome four freshmen to the mix. Friday night will be our first chance to see the new-look Commodores.
