Well, it’s time for another offensive preview. This week we are looking at Florida.
Unlike the past two weeks, I really don’t know what to say. The Kyles (Trask and Pitts) are going to come in to Dudley and wreck house. They are good by all national standards (6th in nation at 45.8 ppg, 12th in nation in total offense at 511 ypg), and since we made Kentucky’s and Mississippi State’s offenses look more than competent, it’s fair to fear what we’re about to experience on Saturday. Presently the Dores are a 31.5 point dog. Normally I love big wide spreads like this because it’s easy to cover, but I honestly don’t know about that here. Our best hope is that the offense turns this into a shootout, and we don’t have the horses to keep up. Josh Ali pretty much had a field day last week against our secondary, and Florida has three targets to choose from including Kyle Pitts who are all as good if not better than Ali. I guess the good news is that Florida doesn’t base their offense on the running game very much, but of course they use their running back as a receiver a lot, so I’m not sure that really helps. The Gators are a very legit team, especially on offense, and our defense looks lost right now. So that’s really all I can offer you on a preview. Grab your bourbon, it’s going to be a rough one.
