Issac McBride declared immediately eligible

The Kansas transfer will play for Vanderbilt basketball in 2020-21.

With the NCAA giving out waivers for immediate eligibility like candy these days, it was about time that the body ruled Kansas transfer Issac McBride eligible to play for Vanderbilt in the 2020-21 season, which it did on Monday.

McBride, a redshirt freshman from Little Rock, Arkansas, enrolled at Kansas but never played a game before transferring out of the program. He was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2019 and now, his eligibility gives Vanderbilt a guy who can play both guard spots and probably score a bit.

In other news, Vanderbilt still hasn’t released its basketball schedule but... baby steps. McBride’s eligibility means that Vanderbilt will have 13 scholarship players eligible to play in 2020-21 and... I honestly can’t remember the last time that happened. I still think McBride is behind Scotty Pippen and Max Evan’s on the depth chart, but we’ll see how everything plays out this season.
