If you were feeling any positivity about the Vanderbilt football team after its season opener at Texas A&M, well, that seems to have been shot after a 41-7 loss to LSU on Saturday.
South Carolina, 0-2 with a 31-27 loss to Tennessee followed by a 38-24 loss at Florida on Saturday, comes into Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday as a 12-point favorite over the homestanding Commodores, per covers.com. The South Carolina defense, which has surrendered 69 points (nice) through two games, will be an interesting test for a Vanderbilt offense that’s scored just 17 points in two games.
On the other side of the ball, well, it’s an equally interesting test for a Vanderbilt defense that’s allowed 58 points in two games. South Carolina’s offense has looked surprisingly cromulent through two games this season, with new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and new quarterback Collin Hill, both recently of Colorado State. The defense handled Texas A&M reasonably well but gave up plenty of points to LSU.
Saturday’s game will kick off at 11 AM and will be televised on the SEC Network.
