Week 5 was another miserable set of picks. The staff is floundering at a combined 104-160 on the season. Tom is flirting with having a decent batting average. Stand, VU ‘04, and myself are chasing Austin Martin territory. CDA and Import are actually within reach of 0.500!

Florida, LSU, Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Tulane all failed at least 5 of us. Only 2 staffers correctly chose Georgia Tech and Kentucky. Thankfully, THEY are not nearly as good as THEY want you to believe, and Clemson did what they normally do to conference foes to get 11 of a possible 12 “wins.” We were perfectly split on Auburn-Arkansas, and the Auburn alumnus knew better than to trust Gus against the Piggies.

This week is an interesting mess with Vandy-Missouri and LSU-Florida postponed. Also, one idiot (aka me) forget to declare his picks prior to the SMU-Tulane game. It is probably not going to matter though because I was going to take SMU...who has let the game go to OT as 6.5-point favorites. The staff has a Friday night double dip though with BYU-Houston just getting underway.

The Rules

1. Normally, the picks are for all SEC games with one dealer’s choice where I get to choose another game to make us pick. This year, it is going to be all SEC games, one dealer’s choice, and the Campbell Fighting Camels game! Why? Because I said so.
2. The picks will be made AGAINST THE SPREAD. Too many games are easy to pick heads up. Also, this will serve as a PSA for why you should not get into sports gambling with more states making it legal.
3. The lines will be taken from Oddshark’s consensus spread some time Monday, so they may not match what is listed at the time this article is published.
