It appears that MLB has elected not to play day games any more, at least for today and tomorrow. (The start times for the games after Wednesday haven’t been announced yet, presumably because there’s no guarantee that the ALCS will extend beyond that.) Boo!
Instead, the first game starts right after you probably get off work, if you live in God’s time zone. The second game will almost certainly overlap, because no MLB playoff game takes less than four hours, apparently.
Anyway, your two matchups tonight...
5:00 PM CT: Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (FS1)
Walker Buehler did his job for the Dodgers last night, only to see (a) his offense do nothing, and (b) the bullpen give up four runs in the ninth for the Braves to take a 1-0 series lead, presumably satisfying Vanderbilt fans who are also Braves fans. Anyway, Clayton Kershaw got scratched from this start and I’m just gonna throw out there that I appreciate that the Dodgers’ decade-long attempt to buy a championship have been frustrated.
7:30 PM CT: Tampa Bay Rays vs. Houston Astros (TBS)
The Astros are down 2-0, and... yeah, it isn’t looking good. You win, universe.
(Ah, hell, there’s a Titans game tonight, too?)
