We already lost to South Carolina in football, but avenging that loss will be difficult.

The South Carolina Lady Game Penises were a painful opponent for nearly everyone on their schedule. They complied a 19-2-3 (7-0-3) record en route to being the SEC East regular season champions, SEC Tournament champions, and reaching the NCAA Tournament quarter finals. Their only losses were at #20 Clemson (0-1) and against Washington State (1-0) in the NCAA Tournament. The ties were versus Vanderbilt (0-0), versus Tennessee (1-1) and at #19 Florida (1-1). The dominance is evident in the statistical advantages they carried. The Lady Penises probed defenses ruthlessly to outshoot opponents 12.5 to 8.2 shots per game with a shots on goal advantage of 5.9 to 2.7 per game. They scored 1.79 goals per game while preventing being penetrated themselves with only 0.33 goals allowed per game.

South Carolina is still very stiff competition. They only lost 9 of their 43 goals and 11 of their 40 assists from a season ago. Departed forward Elexa Bahr was tied with returner Luciana Zullo with 6 goals scored while being the stand-alone assist leader with 9 helpers. Stalwart defender Grace Fisk will be a big hole to fill since she started all 24 games on the back line while adding a goal and an assist. Fellow defender Tatumn Milazzo had the same scoring tallies in 14 games played, which were all starts. Midfielder Rebecca Koch contributed some in midfield with 1 goal in 14 games played, of which 10 were starting assignments. The biggest loss may have been between the pipes where Mikayla Krzecowski defender the South Carolina net for all but 45 minutes last season. Her save percentage of 86.2% is absolutely ridiculous, though soccer save percentages are heavily dependent on where defenders allow attackers to shoot.

With those losses from their roster, the Lady Penises have looked a little limper but have shown the ability to be hard to play against still. They lost 0-1 at Georgia, won 4-1 hosting Missouri, and won 1-0 versus Kentucky. They have played more eventful games while still maintaining the shooting advantage 15.3 to 9.7 shots per game while shots on goal are 6.0 to 3.7 per game. Vanderbilt has stumbled this season with a 1-0 loss at Tennessee in OT and a 2-1 loss at Missouri after starting the season with a 3-2 comeback win versus Kentucky. They will need to be at their best beat the Lady Cocks. The game kicks off at noon Central time on ESPNU.
