On Wednesday night, the Vanderbilt Commodores football team got some good news. Former Ohio State defensive lineman Alex Williams announced via Instagram that he would be transferring to Vanderbilt.

The 6’6”, 270-pound Williams rated as a three-star recruit in the 2018 class out of Pickerington, Ohio. He redshirted his first year with the Buckeyes. He got into five games in 2019 and made eight total tackles.

While he played sparingly at Ohio State, he has good size and still has some potential. He’ll have three years of eligibility left, though it’s unknown at this point if he’ll have to sit out a year as a transfer.

Anchor Down, Alex.
